Lim Kit Siang confirms he would sue Siti Mastura
DAP veteran Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang confirmed that he is suing Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Mohammad over unfounded allegations that she made in Kemaman earlier this month.
“I want to confirm the statement by the DAP MP for Seputeh Teresa Kok that I have instructed my lawyers to institute legal action against the PAS MP for Kepala Batas Siti Mastura Muhammad,” he said in a statement.
News of his intention to sue Siti Mastura first emerged on Kok’s Instagram account a few days ago.
“This is more than an action to clear my name of defamation, but because Siti Mastura has become a national disgrace as a media illiterate to become a Member of Parliament and have a PHD conferred on her,” he added.
While campaigning in Kemaman Siti Mastura alleged that Singapore founder Lee Kuan Yew, Communist Party of Malaya secretary general Ong Boon Hua, better known as Chin Peng and Kit Siang are cousins.
She also alleged that the top leaders of the DAP are from the same family. In addition to that she claimed that DAP national chairman’s wife, Betty Chew and Kok are cousins.
Kit Siang is not the first DAP leader to file suit. Guan Eng and Kok have already filed their defamation suits against Siti Mastura.
The veteran leader added that the allegations by Siti Mastura shows that she is no different from Pas president Tan Sri Hadi Awang who alleged that the DAP and Kit Siang is anti-Islam, anti-royalty, communist and spreading Islamophobia without substantiating the claims.
