Hamas extends truce with new list of hostages
Hamas has extended the truce that was supposed to end earlier by releasing a new list of hostages made up of women and children.
This resulted in Israel announcing an extension minutes of the minutes before it lapsed.
Qatar also confirmed that the truce would continue another day.
“Palestinian and Israeli sides have reached an agreement to extend the humanitarian pause in the Gaza Strip for an additional day under the existing conditions, which are a cessation of all military activities and the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza,” Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Majed Al Ansari said in a statement.
As of yesterday 97 hostages have been freed by Hamas and 180 Palestinians prisoners have been released.
