Russia pounds Ukraine’s Kyiv, Kharkiv

Russia pounded two of Ukraine’s biggest cities – capital, Kyiv and Kharkiv with a new wave of heavy air strikes.

According to Ukraine’s Interior Ministry that resulted in at least five civilian deaths and 135 injured.

Russia intensified its attacks over New Year.

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that Ukrainian air strike on the Russian city of Belgorod on Jan 1 would not go unpunished.

Russia will answer for every life (that it has) taken away,” Ukraine President Volodymr Zelenskiy said on the Telegram messenger.

“The trajectories have been specially calculated by the enemy to cause as much damage as possible,” he said.

“No other country has yet repelled similar attacks by combined drones and missiles, including ballistic missiles,” he added.
