Govt collapse claim meant to keep their MPs intact, says Mahfuz
Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor’s claim that the government will collapse is meant to prevent Perikatan Nasional (PN) MPs shifting their support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said Kedah Pakatan Harapan chief, Datuk Mahfuz Omar.
Yesterday, Bukit Gantang MP Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul claimed another eight MPs from the opposition bloc, PN would be supporting the Anwar Ibrahim in the upcoming Dewan Rakyat session.
“Sanusi’s allegations are damaging investor confidence as they might feel the country lacks political stability.
“However, the situation is quite stable with the prime minister having two-thirds majority support in the Dewan Rakyat. PN leaders, especially Sanusi, need to be wiser…”,” said Mahfuz, reported Malay daily, Utusan Malaysia.
On Wednesday, Sanusi said he did not believe the government would last a full term, and that he expected a new government to be in place by the end of the year.
He said this when asked to comment on the much talked about Dubai Move.
