US: Palestinians must have the option to remain in Gaza

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stressed that Palestinians in Gaza must not be forced to leave their home, and instead, must be allowed to return to Gaza once the conditions permit them to do so.

“Palestinian civilians must be able to return home as soon as conditions allow. They cannot, they must not be pressed to leave Gaza,” Blinken said in Qatar as he made his Middle East tour, reported the BBC.

Blinken’s call contradicts a secret plan by the Netanyahu government to relocate Palestinians to other countries such as Congo.

Two of Netanyahu’s cabinet members have already made calls in support of migration of Gaza people.

The two are Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.

Israel’s official stand is Palestinians in Gaza would be allowed to return eventually.

Blinken is currently on a five day trip to the Middle East in efforts to contain the ongoing war.
