Houthi: UN Security Council resolution a political game

Houthis of Yemen claim that the UN Security Council resolution against them is a “political game”.

The Houthi supreme revolutionary committee Mohammed Ali al-Houthi also accused the US of violating international law.

He added the actions taken was within the framework of legitimate defense.

Yesterday the UN Security Council demanded an immediate end of attacks on ships in the Red Sea by Yemen’s Houthis.

The Security Council pointed out that the attacks only served to escalate the ongoing war and endorsed the US led task force.

This demand was made in a resolution that called the Houthis to release Galaxy Leader, a Japanese operated vehicle carrier.

The resolution was passed with 11 in support and four, including Russia and China, abstaining.
