Meta bans Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has removed the account of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, reported Radio Free Europe.

“We have removed these accounts for repeatedly violating our Dangerous Organisations and Individuals Policy (DOI),” said a Meta spokesperson.

The DOI addresses most seerious threats on the Meta’s social media platforms. It doesnt allow violent or hateful actions and events.

The policy also includes a ban on organisations identified by the United States government as foreign terrorist organisation and specially designated global terrorists.

Meta did not mention about Hamas though Iran is backing the Palestinian based outfit.
