PM Anwar: Multilingualism a plus point that brings in investment

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim pointed out multilingualism among Malaysians as a plus point that drew in investments into Malaysia.

“With political stability and strong government, we must focus on economic development, investment, and expanding our capability in all fields.

“The Cabinet has endorsed this and wants to focus on ensuring Malaysia becomes a great nation in this region.

“This is a country that has so many people proficient in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, English, and Tamil. We will emphasise this from now as it attracts investors,” he said in his speech at the Kuala Lumpur Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH) in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.

He noted that China was among the country’s top investors and the strategic partnership between the two nations will continue to be enhanced.

“We are now focused on economic development and China being among the main investors will boost efforts to expand our economy.

“Together, we will also expand the culture of education and university research,” he said, adding that the government was focused on implementing policies to attract more domestic and foreign investors.
