Police to record Hadi’s statement over his insolent statement tomorrow
The police would record a statement from Pas leader Tan Sri Hadi Awang tomorrow afternoon, over the latter’s controversial remarks against the Selangor sultan, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
“We will record his statement tomorrow at 2.30 pm at the PAS Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur,” Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said, since Hadi’s health has improved.
Razarudin stated this to the media today at the handing-over ceremony between the outgoing Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Kamarudin Md Din, who has been appointed Internal Security and Public Order Department, to Datuk Khaw Kok Chin in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur this morning, reported Sin Chew Daily.
Razarudin confirmed the police is investigating Hadi, under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
Hadi had been insolent in telling the Malay Rulers to prioritise a vision for the afterlife instead of worldly affairs in response to the monarch’s stand of upholding the democratic institutions.
Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah delivered a royal rebuke against Hadi.
