Huazong: Canteen is the only dining place school children need

Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) president Tan Sri Goh Tian Chuan took Pas ulama wing chief Datuk Ahmad Yahaya who is also Sik MP for criticising the Education Ministry’s decision on opening school canteen operation during fasting month.

“Those holding this view disrespect non-Muslims. The school cafeteria should be the only place students and teachers can dine in, as opposed to storage rooms or any other place, as mentioned by the minister,” he said in a press statement to the media.

He stressed that every religion advocates and embodies the spirit of love, tolerance, and kindness, which should be reciprocated equally.

Ahmad claimed opening school canteens during Ramadan was disrespectful toward Muslims.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek who announced the directive four days ago has stood her ground on this matter.

Ahmad’s myopic call was first criticised by Syahredzan Johan (PH-Bangi) via X.
