Xin Jian Chang Sdn Bhd’s operating license revoked

Batu Pahat Municipal Council (MPBP) has revoked Xin Jian Chang Sdn Bhd’s operating license, for distributing the socks with the word “Allah” to KK Mart.

Yesterday the factory ceased its operations, a day after it was raided by authorities.

The local authorities took action because the company breached its business license terms, specifically related to shoe storage and distribution, in accordance with Sections 13 (2) and 49 (2) of the MPBP 2016 law, The Sun Daily reported

Yesterday, Yang Dipertua MPBP, Ezahar Abu Sairin personally delivered the notice to the company managing director Soh Hui San at the MPBP Tower on Rugayah Street.

Last week, social media went frenzy as images surfaced of socks emblazoned with the word “Allah” being retailed at KK Mart in Bandar Sunway, sparking fury within Malaysia’s Muslim populace.

Xin Jian Chang SDN BHD, the company that distributed the socks to KK Super Mart was under intense scrutiny, apologised to the people of Malaysia regarding its involvement in the controversy by hanging a piece of white cloth at the entrance of the factory.

“We sincerely apologised for the incident that has caused unrest among the community.”
