Two options to probe alleged MP buyout attempts

Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul said there were two options to probe the allegations made by Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan (PN-Tasek Gelugor).

“I can refer both Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi (PN-Tanjung Karang) and Azizi Abu Naim (PN-Gua Musang) to the rights and privileges committee or form a committee under standing orders 80 as suggested by Tasek Gelugor. Let me assure you the penalty is heavy,” he said.

The episode today with Tanjung Karang referring Wan Saiful to the rights and privileges committee.

At this point Ronald Kiandee (PN-Beluran) reminded that Wan Saiful called for the formation of a committee to investigate the allegations from Wan Saiful.

“The gyst of the complaint must be investigated by a committee. The main thing is still Tasek Gelugor’s allegation. Include Tanjung Karang’s denial now.

Last week Wan Saiful claimed that Tanjung Karang and Gua Musang approached him to bribe him so that the latter would support the prime minister.

Zulkafperi and Azizi are among the six opposition federal lawmakers who have declared their support for the prime minister while remaining in the opposition bloc.
