Five armed robbery suspects shot dead in Putra Heights

Five suspected armed criminals was shot dead in Putra Heights, confirmed Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.

All five – locals – are suspected to be involved in over 50 armed robberies in Klang Valley since 2022.

The shootout occurred at 11.30pm last night when a police team spotted the suspects in a Perodua Axia that was driven suspiciously in Persiaran Harmoni.

The suspects aged 25 to 30 sped off and fired shots when they were ordered to stop for inspection.

The police attempted to block off the Axia but the vehicle ended up colliding with the rear of the police car.

The police had to return fire in self defence as the suspects fired shots as they attempted to make an escape.
