Tiong in KKB to boost ecotourism only

In conjunction with Labor Day yesterday, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing visited Kuala Kubu Bharu to bolster ecotourism efforts.

His presence immediately drew the attention of the media as the by-election campaign is underway.

However, he clarified that his visit was not political, rather, it focused solely on meeting with local community organisations to discuss promoting ecotourism in the area, reported China Press.

Among those present were representatives from various community organisations in Kuala Kubu Bharu, including the Kuala Kubu Yik Kuan Club (name transliterated), the Chinese Cemetery of Kuala Kubu Bharu (name transliterated), and the Fujian Cemetery of Kuala Kubu Bharu (name transliterated).

A four-cornered contest involving DAP’s Pang Sock Tao, Bersatu’s Khairul Azhari Saut, PRM’s Hafizah Zainuddin, and Independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin is scheduled to take place on May 11.

This by- election was triggered by the passing of its three term incumbent, Lee Kee Hiong of the DAP.
