MIC-DAP united in Unity Night

Voters in Kuala Kubu Baharu saw the MIC and DAP together on the same stage for the first time in the campaign trails through the Unity Night Programme that was held last night.

The event drew a crowd of 600 people.

Speaking at the event Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh said that both parties are working together for the greater interest of national solidarity and unity among the races.

MIC’s number two Datuk M Saravanan who is Tapah MP was also present at the event.

In his speech, Saravanan said that voters should not be boycotting a ruling coalition candidate in a by-election.

“Don’t show the power of Indians in this by-election. Show them what Indians can do in the general election,” he said.

Other DAP leaders who were also present are Dr Kelvin Yii (PH-Kuching) RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) and former Batu Kawan MP Kasthuri Patto.

This event is significant in cementing closer ties between the two former adversaries.

MIC had boycotted the state polls in six states previously because seats that they wanted to contest were handed over to the DAP.
