PH denies using Agong picture
Pakatan Harapan (PH) has never directed or authorised any party campaign officer to display the image of Yang di- Agong Sultan Ibrahim (YDPA) Sultan Ibrahim said Ng Sze Han, Pakatan Harapan campaign director for Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB) by-election.
“As the campaign director for the PH Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election, I want to emphasise that our team has never directed or condoned such actions by any PH campaign staff,” Ng said in a statement today.
Ng was referring to media reports regarding the incident where the image of YDPA’s picture was used during the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election campaign.
It was reported that the image was displayed on a vehicle carrying a banner with the Pakatan Harapan (PH) flag.
“The use of the YDPA’s image in the campaign is an inappropriate and unacceptable act,” Ng said.
Ng claimed they were aware of the police investigation regarding this issue and are ready to fully cooperate to assist in completing the investigation.
Yesterday two men were arrested for displaying a YDPA photo on a vehicle during the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election campaign.
The two men would face charges at the Kuala Kubu Bharu magistrates court today under Section 4A (1) of the Election Offences Act 1954 for malicious intent, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
