EC: No complaints on bribery, misuse of government assets

Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh confirmed that the commission had not received any complaints or reports from any parties regarding bribery to voters or misuse of government assets and machinery during the ongoing Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

Only one report was received regarding one man who displayed the image of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim.

“The case has been resolved. So, we hope all quarters will continue this positive momentum and conduct the remaining days of the campaign with civility and mutual respect,” he told the media.

He said this in response to Pas secretary general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan who claimed that ruling coalition was misusing was misusing government assets.

Takiyuddin claimed that Perikatan Nasional would file an election petition if Pakatan won the by-election.

The by-election sees a four-cornered fight between Pang Sock Tao (PH), Khairul Azhari Saut (PN), Hafizah Zainuddin (Parti Rakyat Malaysia) and Independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin.

Earlier Pang was confident that her side was running a clean campaign.
