Govt to continue aiding books purchase via Projek Mini Buku Kota

The Education Ministry would continue aiding schools in purchasing books this year via Projek Mini Buku Kota, said deputy education minister, Wong Kah Woh.

“This project is a continuation of a project conducted last year.

“In 2023, the government provided a special allocation of RM2 million for the purchase of reading materials in Tamil language for Tamil primary (SJKT) and secondary schools (SMK) for studying Tamil language.

“The project was concluded with 884,040 Tamil books being distributed to 274 SJKTs and 19 SMK. This includes SJKT Kuala Kubu Baru.”

Wong announced this in view of the ongoing by-election campaign in Kuala Kubu Baharu.

There is a four cornered tussle for the semi urban mixed seat involving Pakatan Harapan’s Pang Sock Tao, Perikatan Nasional’s Khairul Azhari Saut, PRM’s Hafizah Zainuddin and Independent Nyau Ke Xin.

The four cornered fight is set to take place on May 11.
