Stop resorting to dirty politics, Takiyuddin
PKR vice-president, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad urged Pas secretary-general, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan to stop resorting to dirty politics.
He said this after Takiyuddin revived an old issue regarding media defamation from Italy against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during a recent speech at the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election campaign.
He also said that using such strategies to win votes in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election doesn’t serve the voters’ best interests.
“During the campaign, Takiyuddin raised past issues concerning slander in the Italian media against the prime minister, allegations that surfaced while PAS’ senior leaders were in negotiations and approaching Anwar to secure allocations.
“He should talk about what PN (Perikatan Nasional) will do if they win this by-election while campaigning in KKB,” he said via a statement, reported Bernama.
Nik Nazmi emphasised that the Takiyuddin who is also Kota Baru MP should recognize Anwar’s political contributions, which have greatly benefited PAS through political collaboration since 1998.
Nik Nazmi referred to an dvice from the late Tan Sri Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, PAS’ former spiritual leader and Kelantan menteri besar, who urged all Islamic advocates to refrain from disparaging others.
Pang Sock Tao from DAP is Pakatan Harapan’s pick for the KKB by-election on May 11th,
The by-election was triggered by the death of its three-term incumbent, Lee Kee Hiong, also from DAP.
