IGP confirms commitment to voters safety at KKB by-election

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, confirmed that police were stationed at different places, including polling stations, to ensure safety during the KKB Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

“We are on duty, before, during and after the by-election,” he said

He said this when attending the Autism Day event at the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Pengaman Autism Centre in the Malaysian Police Training Centre (Pulapol) today.

He added that they are committed to ensuring the safety of all, especially the voters.

“Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan is the commander on the ground (for the by-election),” he said, claiming that the police are well-versed in maintaining law and order during by-elections.

“I too will go down soon to monitor the situation and deployment of personnel,” he said, reported The Star.

In the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election, Pang is up against Perikatan Nasional’s Khairul Azhari Saut, Parti Rakyat Malaysia’s Hafizah Zainuddin, and independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin.

The by-election was prompted by the passing of the incumbent, Lee Kee Hiong of the DAP, on March 21st.
