Pang Sock Tao secures KKB seat unofficially

Pang Sock Tao of DAP representing Pakatan Harapan (PH) retained the Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB) seat unofficially with a majority of 3865 votes.

She obtained 14000 votes.

Her closest competitor Khairul Azhari Saut of Bersatu who represented the Perikatan National, polled 10135 votes, according to unofficial results.

The other candidates, Parti Rakyat Malaysia’s Hafizah Zainuddin, and independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin lost their deposit.

Hafizah polled 152 votes and Nyau Ke Xin obtained 188 votes.

As of 4 pm, the voter turnout was 55.79%.

The by-election was called following the passing of its incumbent, Lee Kee Hiong, from the DAP.

In the previous KKB by-election, the late Lee secured victory with a majority of 4,119 votes, accumulating a total of 14,862 votes. Her competitors included PN’s Teoh Kien Hong (10,743 votes), Muda’s R. Siva Prakash (1,186 votes), and PRM’s Chng Boon Lai (527 votes).
