Singaporean among seven remanded

A Singaporean is among the seven individuals remanded over a lone wolf attack on Ulu Tiram that led to the death of two police personnel early yesterday.

Five of those remanded are family members of the lone wolf attacker.

They have been remanded until May 24 at Seri Alam district police headquarters.

The suspects were represented by lawyers from the National Legal Aid Foundation.

The remand order was issued by magistrate Hidayatul Syuhada Shamsudin at the district police headquarters (where the suspects are currently being detained) instead of at the Johor Baru Magistrate’s Court due to safety concerns.

They are being investigated under section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
