Attempted breach at Istana Negara, two men apprehended
China Press Daily headlined that two local men attempted to drive into the Istana Negara yesterday, claiming they wanted to see the King, Sultan Ibrahim. However, the guards stopped them and arrested them after finding a machete in their car.
Guang Ming Daily led with Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stating that the 21-year-old suspect in the Ulu Tiram police station attack acted alone and the incident was not related to religion. The suspect and his family were isolated. Police have detained his parents and siblings for questioning.
