Electrify transportation, reduce carbon emission
Deputy minister of investment trade and industry Liew Chin Tong has called for more efforts to electrify transportation.
This measure, he said is necessary to reduce carbon emissions by vehicles, especially private vehicles.
“Malaysians still depend on private vehicles. Not surprising when we learn that carbon emissions by vehicles alone have reached 37%.
“To address this problem, efforts to electrify transportation and movement by using EVs and PHEVs are able to reduce carbon emissions. At the same time we can reduce our dependence on fuel subsidies.”
He said this via his Facebook page after visiting the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 exhibition.
The exhibition was organised by Malaysia Automotive Robotics & loT Institute (MARii) in MAEPS, Serdang.
