Fan Bingbing to be Melaka tourism ambassador next month

Chinese actress Fan Bingbing, 42, is set to become Melaka’s tourism ambassador on June 15.

She would be in Melaka from June 14 to 16 to promote Visit Melaka 2024.

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh confirmed that he had met Fan’s international manager to discuss the matter.

He revealed this via a Facebook post yesterday.

“I believe the presence of Fan Bingbing, who’s been appointed as ambassador for Visit Melaka 2024 (TMM 2024) will attract more tourists, especially from China and Asia, to visit Melaka,” he also said.

Fan met the Agong, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim in December while engaging in the 34th Singapore International Film Festival.

She is well known for starring in the TV series “Jintai-pan” (2009) and “The Empress of China” (2014). She was also producer for both series.

Fan Bingbing last appeared in Green Light in 2023. The movie premiered in the Panorama section at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival.
