PM Anwar to announce key initiatives that would amplify Malaysia’s semiconductor

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would be announcing key initiatives that would amplify Malaysia’s global footprint in the semiconductor sector this afternoon at SemiCon South-East Asia (Semicon SEA 2024) 2024, announced Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.

“It will be about strengthening our position in the semiconductor space and emphasising the importance of semiconductors and the role that Malaysia can play in the global value chain,” he said to reporters after the launch of SemiCon South-East Asia 2024 on this morning.

Zafrul is confident in Malaysia’s strong semiconductor foundation and added that now is the perfect time to transform Malaysia into a leading semiconductor powerhouse and regional manufacturing hub.

The three-day Semicon SEA 2024 exposition, a pivotal event for the regional electronics industry, will feature the Malaysia Sourcing Pavilion @ Semicon SEA 2024.

This initiative is designed to facilitate business matchmaking and enhance collaboration within the electronics ecosystem.
