RMN report to be released tomorrow
Government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil announced that the comprehensive report of the two Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) helicopters crash will be released tomorrow.
“The defense minister has informed the cabinet of the latest status of the full helicopter crash report in Lumut. He informed me that the report has been completed and will be published tomorrow,” he said during a press conference at his ministry, reported Malay Mail.
He said that during the Cabinet meeting, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin informed the Cabinet that the report would be released tomorrow.
The Cabinet had thoroughly discussed the helicopter incident at the RMN base in Perak and had committed to providing an interim report within two weeks, followed by the full report within a month.
During a rehearsal for the RMN’s 90th anniversary celebration, a devastating incident occurred on 23 April, resulting in the loss of seven crew members from the Maritime Operations Helicopter (HOM-AW139) and three RMN Fennec crew members in a crash.
