Malaysian real estate sector shines at global event

Nanyang Daily headlined the 2024 FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards that was held in Singapore to honour global industry elites’ achievements in the global real estate sector. The Malaysian real estate industry continued to shine on the international stage, winning a total of six world gold awards and three world silver awards.

Malaysian mixed doubles shuttler Lai Pei Jing’s case of falling victim to a scam and losing her lifetime saving is the headlines in all four Chinese dailies – China Press, Guang Ming Daily, Kwong Wah Daily and Sin Chew Daily.

“Yes, I was scammed out of almost all my life savings by a fraud group. Honestly, this has been an extremely heavy blow to me,” she said.

“My hard-earned savings from decades of hard work. I reflect on it almost every second whenever my mind is idle.

“Naturally, I replay the entire scam and fall into a state of blaming myself for my foolishness and kindness.

“It takes great courage to speak out about being scammed because who wants to tell others I was foolishly deceived, right?” she added.

She also said these past few days, she have been managing her emotions and dealing with the police.
