Joohari fits the bill, said Rafizi 

PKR’s Dr Joohari Ariffin fits the bill, said co-chair of the unity government election machinery steering committee Rafizi Ramli. 

He was speaking at the candidate announcement ceremony for Sungai Bakap by-election yesterday. 

“Joohari fits the bill, being a local face in Sungai Bakap and an educator, who has served in various educational institutions here.

“We believe that if chosen as the assemblyman in the by-election, he will be able to serve and educate the people well,” Rafizi said.

At the ceremony, it was announced that PKR’s Dr Joohari Ariffin will be representing PH in the Sungai Bakap by-election.

Meanwhile, Joohari thanked the unity government for placing their trust in him.

“I hope the people here will support me.

“If I win, I am here to serve everyone, irrespective of their political affiliations and race,” he vowed.

The Election Commission (SPR) has set July 6 as the polling day for the Sungai Bakap by-election, June 22 as the nomination day, and July 2 for early voting.

Dr. Joohari’s candidacy was announced by  Rafizi Ramli, at Bandar Tasek Mutiara yesterday. 

Sixty-year-old Joohari is a local resident of Sungai Bakap.

He attended Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Bakap and later, Penang Free School for his secondary education.

Joohari had collaborated extensively with Fadhlina Sidek, the Education Minister and Member of Parliament for Nibong Tebal.
