Pas picks its man for Sungai Bakap

Pas named its Nibong Tebal division deputy chief Abidin Ismail to defend the Sungai Bakap seat in the upcoming by-election that is scheduled on July 6.

Abidin was announced as a candidate by party deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man last night in Bandar Tasek Mutiara, Seberang Perai.

Abidin, 56, is a local boy who was an aide to the late Sungai Bakap assemblyman Nor Zamri Latiff.

He had previously worked as a logistics executive.

The Sungai Bakap state seat fell vacant following the Zamri’s death on May 24.

Abidin would face off PKR’s Dr Joohari Ariffin in this by-election.
