Allocated RM100 million for MITRA was completely utilised last year, says PM Anwar
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that the allocated RM100 million for the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (MITRA) last year was fully utilised.
“The allocation was spent on 216 programs that targeted 134,247 participants,” he said via a parliamentary written reply to V Sivakumar (PH-Batu Gajah) who asked for the breakdown of funds spent by MITRA for the year 2023.
“For Indian community human capital development program scope, 43 programs was carried out costing RM35,278,580.46 targeted 21,321 participants.
“The Indian community career and entrepreneurship development program scope saw 113 programs conducted costing RM35,034,811.90 for 83,883 participants.
“The Indian community wellbeing, spiritual, welfare and social development program scope involved 60 programs at RM29,686,607.64 for 29,0434 participants.
For this year as of June, MITRA planned four programs valued at RM40 million for 15,300. The programs are in the midst of getting approvals and would be launched soon.
