Bodybuilder dies of heart attack, a day after competing

Suharwardi Dahlan, a 28-year-old bodybuilder from Miri, tragically passed away from heart complications a day after participating in the 58th Mr. Sarawak Bodybuilding Championships in Sibu.

China Press reported that his family rushed him to the Miri Hospital for emergency treatment on the night of June 23.

He was pronounced dead at 3 a.m. on June 24.

The Miri Division Bodybuilding Association confirmed Suharwardi’s death in a Facebook post yesterday.

The aspiring bodybuilder had just returned to his home in Kampung Pujut Tanjung Batu, Miri, after completing the competition, which had concluded over the weekend.

Suharwardi secured fourth place in his category, contributing to the Miri team’s top finish at the event.

Last month, Suharwardi, who is also an auxiliary police officer, won a bodybuilding championship in Miri.

This victory qualified him to represent his city at the 58th Mr Sarawak Bodybuilding Championship.
