MAA offers RM3,000 reward to find cat killer

Malaysian Animal Association (MAA) is offering a reward of RM3,000 to anyone who can identify a man who sliced open a cat in Klang.

“A reward of RM3,000 is offered to witnesses who can provide information that verifies the incident and leads to the apprehension, conviction, and sentencing of the perpetrator,” MAA said.

“Friends, brothers, acquaintances, neighbours or anyone else in this country who has seen a man slaughtering this cat, please provide complete information to the Malaysian Animal Association www.wasap.my/+60146345464 so that an official report can be submitted to the authorities to investigate the case that is believed to have occurred in Malaysia recently,” MAA said via a Facebook post.

On Monday, June 24, MAA shared a disturbing video depicting a man using a cleaver to slaughter a cat.

In the video, the man is assisted by several individuals, one of whom holds the cat while another records the gruesome scene.

MAA suspected the individual in question works at a snack shop near Pasar Borong Klang, Selangor, and resides in Batu Belah, Klang, Selangor.

MAA said a thorough investigation into this incident is needed to identify the methods used to kill the cat and the intent behind it, whether the cat was killed for food or entertainment purposes.

“If it is found that the cat was deliberately killed for social media content, the perpetrator must be brought to justice,” MAA said, adding that the practice of killing cats for consumption should not become normalised in Malaysian society.
