Sin Chew Daily said that terminating cooperation with companies operating within Israel is the limit of the government’s actions.

Extending the boycott to companies worldwide that have dealings with Israel is beyond our capability and, as the prime minister mentioned, would impact the national economy, the daily said.

The daily added that over-politicizing economic and investment issues would be counterproductive. A responsible government should choose the lesser of two evils, the daily said.

Nanyang Daily highlighted that former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad accused his successors of fragmenting Malay political power into multiple parties but ignored his own major role in creating this situation.

History will inevitably record both his achievements and shortcomings, the daily added.
