G25 co-founder Noor Farida Ariffin passes away at 76

G25 co-founder Datuk Noor Farida Mohd Ariffin,76, passed away.

G25 is an NGO made up of retired senior civil servants.

G25 executive secretary Jasmine Zulkifli confirmed her death, reported FMT.

A prayer would be held at the Kampung Baru Mosque. She would be buried at the Muslim cemetery at Jalan Ampang.

She was born in Kuala Kangsar and began her career in 1971 with the Judicial and Legal Service.

Throughout her tenure, she held roles such as magistrate, senior assistant registrar in the High Courts of Kuala Lumpur and Penang, legal officer at the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department, Director of the Legal Aid Bureau, and Sessions Court Judge.

From 2000 to 2007, she served as Malaysia’s ambassador to the Netherlands before advancing to become the director-general of Wisma Putra’s research, treaties, and international law department.

She retired from the civil service in 2012.
