Investigation paper on the Molotov cocktail on Ngeh’s residence sent to prosecutor

The investigation paper regarding the Molotov cocktail attack on Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham’s residence has been sent to Perak state prosecution director’s office, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

“An investigation was done under section 435 of the Penal Code. The investigation paper have been referred to the Perak state prosecution director’s office,” said Saifuddin in a written reply to Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (PN-Kota Bharu).

The section criminalises mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage to amount of fifty ringgit.

If found guilty, the suspect can be sent to prison for upto 14 years and fined.

The Pas federal lawmaker had enquired on the investigation outcome and prosecution against the suspect in this case as well as a death threat against Teresa Kok (PH-Seputeh).

A Molotov cocktail attack on Ngeh’s residence in the early hours of January 10 caused a fire that led to a fire that burned the DAP lawmaker’s porch and three of his vehicles.

Kok had received a death threat with life bullets last month.

With regards to Kok’s case, Saifuddin said the police is probing the matter under section 507 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation by anonymous communication.
