RM50 million allocated annually for maintenance of non-Muslim places of worship

The Housing and Local Government has allocated RM50 million annually since 2023 for the maintenance of non-Muslim places of worship nationwide, said its minister Nga Kor Ming.

“This initiative has been continued with the same amount allocated in 2024.

“In 2023, the ministry approved RM24,767,257.20 to 205 non-Muslim places of worship nationwide.

“As of 15 May this year, RM 26 864,713.15 have been approved for 254 non-Muslim places of worship,” he said in a written reply to Kamal Ashaari (PN-Kuala Krau).

Kamal asked for the total amount of application approved and the government funds that were allocated and given as grants to upgrade non-Muslim places of worship.
