Free influenza vaccine for senior citizens rolls out end of this year
Free influenza vaccine for senior citizens programme would launched end of this year, the Dewan Rakyat was told.
“As of April 15 2024, the government has agreed to give out free influenza vaccine for individuals aged 60 and above, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
“The programme would be launched end of 2024.”
He said this in a written reply to Datuk Seri Dr Wee Jeck Seng (BN-Tg Piai).
Wee had asked about the proposal to give out free influenza vaccine for individual aged 65 and above from 2025. He also asked on the ministry’s latest plans to improve the National Immunisation Programme.
“The Health Ministry is planning to give a vaccine combination of diphtheria – tetanus – pertussis to pregnant mothers to prevent pertussis among babies.
“This programme would be launched end of 2024 too.”
