Madani Medical Scheme limited to ensure financial efficiency, effective services
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad revealed that the operational areas for Madani Medical Scheme (SPM) is meant to ensure efficient utilisation of financial resources and increase the effectiveness of the health services
“As of June 6, 2024, RM94.8 million out of the allocated RM 100 million have been spent,” he said.
“Patients with minor health issues can still obtain health services from village clinics, community clinics, health clinics and the green zones in government hospitals.”
He said this in a written reply to Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan) who queried on the current status of SPM since the reach scope has depreciated to just 10 areas in Malaysia.
SPM that was launched on June 15, 2023 is a pioneer project launched to reduce patient overcrowding at the outpatient departments and health clinics located in 10 districts.
The 10 are Kuala Lumpur, Gombak, Hulu Langat, Petaling, Klang (Selangor), Johor Bahru (Johor), Kinta (Perak), Timur Laut (Penang), Kota Kinabalu (Sabah), and Kuching (Sarawak).
