Noh craves to contest in Tanjung Karang

Umno supreme council member Datuk Dr Puad Zarkashi took former Selangor Umno leader Tan Sri Noh Omar to task for using embattled ex-Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as an excuse to join opposition party, Bersatu.

“He is willing to use Najib’s name to jump ship. That is a low class excuse. Noh Omar is not a die hard Najib supporter.

“What can he do to defend Najib by joining Bersatu?

“Muhyiddin and Bersatu wants Najib imprisoned. The longer the better for them.

“Actually he joined Bersatu because he is craving to be a candidate for Tanjung Karang. He is confident that the seat would be vacated soon.”

Noh who joined Bersatu yesterday was a six term MP of Tanjung Karang.

He was booted out of Umno after violating party discipline during the 15th general election.

Tanjung Karang MP Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi is one of the six Bersatu MPs who have become friendly to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s administration.

This led to Bersatu amending its constitution and booting out all six.

The federal opposition party has notified the Dewan Rakyat and state legislative assembly speakers to pave a way for a by-election.

Yesterday, Zulkafperi’s seat position in the Dewan Rakyat led to an altercation between Datuk Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh (PN-Besut) and Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker Alice Lau Kiong Yieng
