Petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged for now

The retail prices for RON97 and RON95 petrol, as well as diesel, will remain unchanged at RM3.47, RM2.05, and RM3.35 per litre, respectively, from July 11 until 17, said the Finance Ministry.

While the retail price of diesel in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan will remain fixed at RM2.15 per litre, add the ministry via a statement.

According to the ministry, the retail prices for petroleum products would be determined using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula, which sets weekly retail prices for petroleum products.

The ministry said the government pledged to monitor global oil market shifts and act to safeguard citizens’ welfare and well-being.

“The government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people,” the ministry said.

The transition from the bulk diesel subsidy to a targeted subsidy on June 10 has caused diesel prices to fluctuate in the market.
