RM100 million in subsidies for Felda
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that his cabinet has approved RM100 million as subsidy allocation to assist Felda cover its operational costs.
“The government has implemented targeted diesel subsidies to tackle the smuggling and leakage of subsidised diesel.
“At the same time, the government has prepared aid for targeted groups in need, including smallholders.”
He said this in conjunction with Felda Settlers 68th anniversary in MAEPS, Serdang.
The allocation was approved following discussions with stakeholders. The stakeholders had pointed out that the diesel subsidy rationalisation impacted the settlers.
He also announced RM31.7 million for 317 Felda settlements under its Sejahtera Komuniti Madani programme.
“The community is given the freedom to deliberate and decide on key sectors such as agriculture and food, sewing and crafts, herbs and health, tourism and hospitality, as well as green and recycling activities.
“Therefore, the government is pleased to approve RM31.7 million for 317 Felda land scheme,” he said in his speech.
