Pendang MP booted out three days, accused Rayer of being anti-Islam

Datuk Awang Solahudin Hashim (PN-Pendang) was booted out of the Dewan Rakyat for three days by Deputy Speaker Datuk Dr Ramli Mohd Nor after he accused RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) of being anti-Islam.

Rayer initially raised a point of order against the opposition bloc for using unparliamentary terms last week when Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul ruled that the six Bersatu MPs who were friendly to the government need not vacate their seats.

“The opposition termed the Speaker as a postman.

“Pendang used the term 6 Jahanam in reference to the six MPs who supported PMX. At that time, I told him as a Muslim it was not right for him to use that term.

“Opposition Leader also insulted the Dewan against the deputy speaker by calling for her to make

“They also make statements and walkout from here.

He raised his complaints based on Standing Orders 36(4) 36(6) and 36(12).

Ramli instructed Rayer to file a motion.

Awang accused, “He mentioned my name. He is anti Islam. DAP defends gamblers in Kedah. He is anti-Muslim for going against the majority wishes of the Kedah people.”

Rayer countered, “I want his statement retracted. It is not right for saying I am anti-Islam.”

“He always links it with Islam. He is anti-Islam,” Awang continued.

Ramli wanted Awang to retract but it didn’t happen.

“I apologise I can’t retract. It is my principle,” Awang said.
