Fadhlina assures aid for government aided schools
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek gave her word that her ministry ensures that the access, equity and quality of education which is the main core of the national education agenda would be continued, regardless of the type of school, location and race, including to the government aided schools (SBK).
“Hence, SBK would also receive maintenance allocation through annual budgets that is announced by the government,” she said in her written reply.
She said this in response to P Prabakaran (PH-Batu) who questioned the role of the Education Ministry in ensuring that the facilities in SBK status schools are on par so that education of education and facilities are similar to other schools.
SBK schools are formed by school governor boards, estates or organisations that is under the Education Ministry.
It receives capital fund and aid but it is not fully maintained by the Education Ministry.
Most primary Tamil schools in Malaysia are SBK schools.
