RM1 million luxury serviced apartment awaits Malaysia’s first Olympic gold medalist

Property developer Top Residency offers a luxury serviced apartment worth RM1 million in Setia Alam, Selangor to Malaysia’s athletes  who won Olympic gold medals in the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024 said Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh

“Olympic gold is a [source of] pride for Malaysia. We want to encourage the private sector and also Malaysians to support them.

“We believe sports are a unifying tool for Malaysia. So, this is the platform we give to the private sector to play their role in rewarding the athlete who brings home a gold medal,” she said on her Facebook.

Other companies also made similar offers.

Chery Malaysia announced last month that it would award a Tiggo 8 Pro SUV to gold medal winners, an Omoda E5 to silver medal winners, and a Tiggo 7 Pro to bronze medal winners.

Yeoh said that Senheng Malaysia pledged a personal sponsorship of RM1 million to either badminton men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia and Soh Hooi Yik, or mixed doubles player Chen Tang Jie, should they secure the coveted gold medal.

Bernama reported that they had been enrolled in Senheng’s SS Badminton Talent program between 2012 and 2016.

“More sponsors are coming in and have already contacted the RTG committee. So, for now, they are sorting out the legal documents to ensure the commitment is correct and clear,” said Yeoh.

These additional incentives complement the existing RM1 million reward already offered through Malaysia’s National Sports Incentive Scheme for the country’s first gold medallist.

According to the scheme, each silver medallist will receive RM300,000, while bronze medallists will receive RM100,000.
