Wan Ahmad Fayshal suspended for six months
Wan Ahmad Fayshal Wan Ahmad Kamal (PN-Machang) was officially suspended for a period of six months by the Dewan Rakyat.
“There are 46 absentee. Three did not vote. 63 voted against the motion and a majority of 110 voted in favor of the motion.
“With this Machang is suspended from today for 6 months,” announced Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul.
“I will not surrender in fighting…” Ahmad Fayshal said before his microphone was silenced.
The motion was passed by individual MPs voting instead of en bloc voting.
The motion was tabled by Minister in Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said following the Machang’s actions who raised the issue of Malaysian Airline Holdings Berhad (MAHB) minority shareholding issue.
He used a poison pen letter and named an Employee Provident Fund employee, Shazwan Haris as the mastermind behind the deal that would see Global Infrastructure Partners and several companies obtaining a 30% stake in MAHB.
