No restrictions for opposition lawmakers, just abide by ministry’s guidelines
There are no restrictions for opposition lawmakers to enter schools
“However there is a guideline that must be applied from the Education Ministry and abided to – the Guidelines for Invitations or Visits by Dignitaries and Politicians to Education Institutions, said Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
This guideline is part of a professionals circular.
She said this in a written reply to Misbahul Munir Masduki (PN-Parit Buntar) who questioned the rationale for schools to block opposition lawmakers from entering schools to handover things that was requested through the schools organisations.
She also justified the move.
“The ministry to ensure their presence is meant for positive education purposes, not disrupt the school’s daily operations.”
The professionals circular also insists that the dignitaries or politicians do not get involved in political racist and extremists elements while in schools.
