DAP has not forgotten Teoh Beng Hock

DAP has not forgotten Teoh Beng Hock as he hold a special place in the hearts of its members 15 years since he passed away, said Wanita DAP chief Teo Nice Ching

“Beng Hock, it’s been 15 years, and you are always in our hearts.

“Time has flown by, but we still believe in the power of justice and a civilised society.

“We will continue to work together and move forward,” Teo said in a Facebook post after attending Teoh Beng Hock 15th anniversary memorial service at the Nirvana Memorial Garden today.

Beng Hock’s sister, Lee Lan, hoped that the family’s upcoming meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on August 1 would lead to a renewed investigation into those allegedly responsible for her brother’s death.

“The search for justice for Beng Hock should not end after we meet with Anwar,” she said.

On July 16, 2009, Beng Hock, a former aide to DAP politician Ean Yong Hian Wah, was found dead shortly after being interrogated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

The Teoh Beng Hock Association for Democratic Advancement (TBH-ADA) considered his death suspicious and demanded a thorough investigation to uncover the truth.

On July 15, Lee Lan led a “Walk of Justice” to Parliament, organised by the TBH-ADA.

The group aimed to deliver a memorandum directly to the prime minister.

However, police formed a human barrier approximately 100 metres from the gates, preventing them from proceeding.
