No meeting with PN to topple Pahang state govt, confirms Nizar Najib

Datuk Mohd Nizar Najib the Peramu Jaya state assemblyman who is also Pahang Investment, Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation committee chairman denied metting opposition Perikatan Nasional representatives to discuss plans to topple the Pahang state government.

“I strictly deny claims that I met with opposition leaders to topple the Pahang state government. The fictional meeting did not take place at all.

“My father (Najib) always told us to be loyal to the party no matter how difficult the situation. How then is it possible for me to conspire to betray the party that my family fought for together, with other Umno people since it was established,” Nizar said in a statement via Facebook this morning.

He said this in response to a viral poster on social media claiming that the state government was shaky and would be replaced with a new one.

The poster claimed “Bossku’s son met PN representatives.

Bossku is the popular term used to refer to former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

“He (Wan Rosdy) has helped my constituents a lot. He’s a kind, approachable leader. I would never betray his trust,” he said in reference to Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

“I’m not a political ‘frog’ who mortgages principles and dignity to ‘sell’ myself to the highest bidder. Stop spreading slander for cheap political gain,” Nizar said.

“The message is clear. I will remain loyal to Umno/BN and the state government of the day.”
