Umno – Pas rumoured talks: Bersatu should be worried

Bersatu should be worried upon hearing rumoured talks that its ally – Pas potentially would cooperate with Umno in the next general election, said government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil.

He who is also PKR information chief said Bersatu is aware that it is a liability to its allies in PN.

“What we do know now is that Umno and BN’s top leadership have stated that there were no meetings done between the two parties.

“I believe whatever it is, Bersatu should be worried sick as many (in PAS) are hoping that one of their own will contest in Nenggiri,” he said during a post-cabinet press conference held at the Communications Ministry in Putrajaya.

He said this in response to a question on whether PH was concerned or worried about the rumoured talks.

On July 22, Pas info chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari claimed that there were talks about both Pas and Umno cooperating in the next federal polls.

Fadhli alleged that there were several unofficial meetings involving main leaders of both parties and they discussed about uniting Maly votes.

Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi have already denied such meetings took place.
